自由電子報 - 等待台灣熱比婭: "本世紀初，熱比婭因控訴維吾爾人在中國受到不公平待遇，得罪中國當局被判刑八年，關進中國黑牢，經國際特赦組織等人權團體的奔走與施壓，二○○五年中國要她聲明深切悔悟絕不再犯後，才讓她赴美保外就醫。然而，她一到美國，馬上繼續抨擊中共政權迫害維族人權之大業。
中共政權很快地以逃稅等名義，將她在東突厥（新疆）的四名子女逮捕囚禁，試圖逼她就範。在電台接受訪問的熱比婭說，她不能只顧自己一家的幸福，而不顧全體東突厥人繼續遭受迫害流血，她被囚的子女會明白這一切。"
